About

Choosing the right person to shape your brand or create the visuals for your project matters - so here’s a little about who I am and what I bring to the table.

I’ve been a designer for more than 30 years. My career began

in1994 in web design, and in 2000 I joined Ask Jeeves, then one

of the world’s largest websites. Working for them in conjunction

with major global brands taught me how to create designs that

not only looked good, but aligned with a company’s identity and

communicated clearly on a global stage.

After leaving Ask Jeeves, I spent several years as a freelance web designer. I loved crafting clean, intuitive sites, but as the web became increasingly technical and development‑heavy, I realised my passion lay in the creative side - the part that shapes how a brand feels and how best to present it.

That shift led me to focus on logos, brochures, and presentation design. A long‑term client, Forty Group, brought me in as their Creative Director after years of freelance collaboration. They specialise in high‑end commercial property developments, and for the past decade I’ve been responsible for creating the visual materials that support and elevate their projects. Many of these creatives can be seen on the Gallery page

Although the company has since moved in a new direction, I continue to work with them on a freelance basis - and now I’m now opening my doors to new clients who want thoughtful, professional design grounded in decades of experience.

Every job I undertake is given the utmost attention to detail. I charge for my time but the truth is I put a lot more time into jobs than I can ever charge for.  My objective is to always produce the best work that I can.  I treat every task as important and I apply the same level of creativity, no matter what the budget may be.

If you would like to speak to me please drop me a message and I will get back to you very quickly.

Creative Design Example

Let me show you how I made the image on the home page...

I had this this picture that I wanted to try out. I used an Ai tool to create a more professional and wider version of me, showing me in casual work clothing.  Ai is great for speed and convenience.

Before Ai, I would have found a suitable image, cut my head out of the original on the right, then removing the head on the donor picture and superimposing my head on to that. That takes a fair bit of time to get right and Ai does it in a few minutes! Makes more sense, saves time and more likely looks more realistic.

As a designer, showcasing what you can do, and your ability to manipulate graphics, then you really need to be showing people something original and creative.

Now I have a more suitable picture of me, I can start creating the image that I want to portray as my welcome screen.

Next I need this image to be substantially wider so it stretches across the width of the site. The background above is not going to work as it is, plus I want to be a bit more clever than using what the Ai tool gave me. So I go to Adobe Stock and I find a preferable background as shown below.

This is exactly what I'm looking for, but again it is not  close to wide enough. So I take a copy and flip the image, extending it to the right, which gets the dimensions I need it to be. I also add some blinds in to hide the fairy lights that I feel don't really work with how I envisaged this.

Now I will add the picture of me I have cut out from the Ai version. I also want to add something to the blank screen of the laptop to give the illusion that its my device in my office. I also add the reflection of the screen onto the desk.

I am satisfied with that.  I've created the picture in my mind and that's one of the joys of being a graphic designer.
